CONGRATULATIONS CITY OF WOODLAND
First Community in California to Decentralize Food Waste Management
With support from the City of Woodland, Food Cycle Science is launching a pilot program to divert household waste using the FoodCycler. Thanks to a special municipal discount, the pilot program will allow residents to obtain a FoodCycler at a subsidized price between July 1st 2023 – September 30th, 2023.
Following the lead of more than 86 communities across North America, the City of Woodland will be the first community in California to pilot this decentralized approach to food waste. The final product produced by the FoodCycler is nutrient-rich and can be integrated back into the soil for a multitude of benefits which include stimulating microbial reactivation. This helps promote a circular food system in addition to reducing green house gas (GHG) emissions. This pilot project is part of a larger plan to eliminate food waste across America
HOW IT WORKS
The Pilot Program
The FoodCycler™ Pilot Program allows select community residents to use FoodCycler™ technology in their homes. By trialling on-site food waste recycling at a subsidized rate, the City of Woodland can determine whether this system is a viable solution for community food waste.
